Since its founding in 2010, the Hass Avocado Board (HAB) Nutrition Research Program has provided millions of dollars to better understand the unique benefits of eating avocados on human health and nutrition. Epidemiological studies, as well as clinical research, indicate several areas of potential positive impact from eating avocados. HAB is currently investigating the relationship between fresh avocado consumption and cardiovascular health, weight management and diabetes. And, based on their nutrient and phytochemical profile, emerging research suggests that fresh avocados may play a positive role in many research areas including skin, eye, joint and cellular health.
